Zion's and St. George

Gramma and I took the girls down to St. George. It felt so good getting out of the car and feeling the 105 degree weather! I loved it!!! Carter and Elsie stayed home with pregnant Megan since we figured all 3 wouldn't be good hikers this year. We spent a day in BEAUTIFUL Zion's National Park.

You park your car at the visitor center then ride a shuttle bus to all the stops. Here we are waiting at a stop.

Two hikes down we are ready for more!

We walked  the Riverside Trail hoping to hike the Narrows. Unfortunetly, the Narrows were closed due to the high, fast water. We had lunch by the river and were invaded by physco squirrels. These squirrels were NOT afraid of people. They brushed up by you like a cat. I wanted to wade in the water with the girls, so I zipped the packs up. When I turned around the squirrel had unzipped the pack, taken a package of cookies, opend the package and ate them.

It was the heat of the day, but I had two little hikers who wanted to press on (yeah!!!) Abbey is afraid of heights. In the shuttle, they kept saying "if you are afraid of heights don't hike Angel's Landing"  so anyway...she wouldn't. Livvie and Gramma were hot and tired so they went to the musem.

Hilary, Gracie and I hiked the steep unshaded trail to Angel's Landing. I could not believe what great hikers these two are!!

"What's More American"...Dance Recital 2010

Best of State Gala

John and I got to go to the Best of State Gala where my dad, Rick Clark was a medal winner for Best Principal. The Gala was May 29th at the Salt Palace. It was very fancy and had great entertainment.

This is the second time my dad has been a medal winner. The first time he was also the statue winner and recieved a statue that looked like that.

Utah's BEST principal retires from Mountain View High School

Principal Rick Clark (my dad) gave  his last graduation speech at Mountain View High School's 2010 graduation on May 28th. It was his best speech ever. Anytime his name was mentioned in any of the other speech the students and crowd roared with applause. He has received a standing ovation every year and this year was no exception (I don't think many other principals can say that).

My dad was awarded the Principal of the Year for the State of Utah. He also was the Best of State Medal winner for Principal for his second time. My dad absolutely LOVED his job as principal. He loved his students and faculty. He is an amazing, talented leader.

I am so proud of all he has accomplished!

Kindergarten Graduation

On May 27th, Hilary graduated from Kindergarten. I am not sure when graduating from Kindergarten became such a huge event, but it is! Way to go Hilary!!

They sang a few songs. Hilary sang and smiled the whole time.

Awards Assembly at Horizon

Gracie was awarded several times at the Awards Assembly.  She was so excited!!! I even got an award for my little attempt of volunteering (Thanks Miss Quigley).

Abbey and Gracie have had a wonderful piano teacher these last few years. Mrs. Rayborn is retiring after teaching for over 40 years. We are sad but happy that her and her husband will get some time together.
