Shoshone Ice Caves --- 2nd grade field trip

I got to go with Gracie's 2nd grade class to the Shoshone Ice Caves. Gracie was so excited I got to come. It was a cold day. Outside the caves there are statues, Indian things, etc. The kids enjoyed playing on them.

The cave was interesting. There is about 18 feet deep of ice on the bottom. This is just outside the cave.
I am glad I was able to go and spend the day with Gracie it meant alot.

Summit First Annual Science Fair

Abbey did a great science fair project. She wanted to see if plants grew better in natural light of artificial light.
Her board turned out great ( I thought the best). She had to present her project to the judges.
She didn't win but enjoyed doing it.

Last Day of Preschool

Mrs. Warren, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Skahill
at Best Beginnings
Carter is the third Andersen these ladies have taught and loved. I feel blessed and lucky to find such a great preschool. Carter has loved every second of it. He was so excited to give his teachers the plants and cards that he made.

GRACIE IS 8

Gracie Kay Andersen came very quickly on a Friday May 17th 2002. She weighed 7lbs and 9 oz and was 21 inches long.
I had scheduled to be induced on the 16th but soon learned that conflicted with the Black in White Sale (a cow sale). After crying for several hours I cancelled with my doctor. I even went to the sale that night in Richmond, UT. When I got home I decided to drink some caster oil....well it worked :)
She was stubborn at first then decided to come before the doctor made it back. She got her middle name form her great-grandma Kay (Kathryn) Andersen. Gracie had LOTS of curly brown hair and has always been long and skinny. Gracie is smart, athletic, STUBBORN, determined, and loves to give hugs and help.

Instead of a big party, Gracie chose her best friend..Rylee Leak, to have a special day with. After school on the 14th, the girls had manicures. Kodi and Amber did a great job making them feel special.

They thought the parrifin wax was pretty cool!

Gracie decided to get her ears pierced. She was been really excited.

On Sunday the 16th, we sang Happy Birthday. She requested Trifle. The Driscoll's, Grandma and Grandpa Andersen, and Brandon & Lindsay came to celebrate.

We are lucky to have such a great family and wonderful friends.
Happy Birthday my sweet Gracie!!!

May 15th--SHE's 10!!!

Abbey Andersen
arrived Monday (the day after Mother's Day) 2:10 pm
7 lbs 11 oz  19 1/2 inches
It is hard to believe that it was ten years ago. Abbey is an amazingly talented and smart young lady (I know I am her mom but she REALLY is). It is such a joy to watch her.
We had a super fun BACKWARDS BIRTHDAY PARTY!!
Her invites were "Thank You" cards. We printed the words in mirror image so they had to look in the mirror to read them. We decorated backwards and everyone dressed up backwards.

Backwards outfits

They wrote their names backwards and we tried calling them that throughout the party...Yebba (Abbey)
We started by opening presents first...FUN!
Then eating cake

We made backwards pinatas...candy and treats tapped on outside of ballooons

Backwards pizzas (calazones)...Yummy!

Eating lunch

Making and designing backward T-shirts

Abbey painting hers

While the shirts were drying, we played backwards games and had backwards races. The girls (and Carter) had so much fun!

Abbey's suprise from her mom and dad were golf clubs. She was so excited. Abbey has a few friends that golf and she always wants to go with her dad.
I was happy that my mom, dad and Colby got to make it up for the party. I am always grateful for my mom's help.
Happy Birthday Miss Abbey!!

Swimming with Carter

Carter's preschool went on a fieldtrip to the pool. Carter was so nervous, and wanted to make sure I was coming and going to get IN the water. I went even though I was not excited to get in the water. Of course once we were there, Carter was not afraid and it was NOT COOL to have your mom. None of the other moms got in. I said, "Carter, I thought you wanted mom to come and be in the water with you."..."Well I thought other moms were going to come" said Carter. The good news...lots of the little girls enjoyed having me there. :)

Mother's Day

I am the luckiest MOM in the world. Motherhood is the most difficult but most rewarding experience I can think of. I am continually humbled to think that god entrusted me with these four amazing kids. I am grateful to be a mom. My kids and John made me feel special! I am also grateful to have an amazing mom who made so many sacrafices for me growning up. I admire her and appreciate her friendship and example. My life is blessed by the influence of many wonderful mothers. Happy Mother's Day!
